It’s official the Holiday Season in America. And Philadelphia has a magical vibe in the air.
The Christmas lights have been switched on, the nights are drawing in and everyone is excited for the big day.
At Celebrity Limo, Christmas is one of our busiest times of year. We spend the Holidays chauffeuring our customers around Philadelphia. Sometimes to Christmas parties, sometimes to and from the airport when visiting their families.
But we also like to show people the magic of Philadelphia at Christmas, so we’ve made a list of some of the best festive light shows and events around the area.
Christmas Light Show at Macy’s
There are more than 100,000 lights on show at Macy’s this year. Their Christmas Light Show is a staple of Christmas in Philadelphia and if you haven’t been before, you really need to go. The spectacle, featuring reindeers, snowflakes and ballerinas, is shown multiple times every day so there really is no excuse not to go.
The Comcast Holiday Spectacular
Shown on the Comcast’s ultra-modern video wall, The Comcast Holiday Spectacular is a light show with a twist. The show features sing-a-longs, ballet and all sorts of festive treats.
Franklin Square Holiday Festival featuring the Electrical Spectacle
Another brilliant light show, featuring 50,000 lights, The Electric Spectacle is fun for all the family. This audio and visual treat features holiday shopping, Christmas songs and a 12-foot kite as an ode to Benjamin Franklin.
Philly Holiday Tree in Dilworth Park
Unfortunately, the grand-unveiling of the Philly Holiday Tree has already been and gone, but it is still well worth a visit. Make sure to go in the evening to fully experience the massive tree!
Blue Cross River Rink Winterfest
If light shows aren’t your thing, then venture over to the Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest. With a hug ice-rink for the centerpiece, there is loads to do for kids and adults alike. Be sure to check out the Kids Lodge, which is full of awesome arcade games.
Deck the Hall Light Show at City Hall
Over at City Hall, there is a truly magical light show that is running nightly until January 1st. The show is based around a celebration of Philadelphia and in particular the history and architecture of City Hall.
Reading Terminal Holiday Railroad at Reading Terminal Market
If you fancy something a bit different this holiday season, why not head over to the Reading Terminal Holiday Railroad? The Reading Terminal Market, a haven for food-lovers, sets up its impressive miniature railroad which celebrates the history of the market.
Christmas Village in Philadelphia
At Love Park, there’s an authentic German Christmas Market, complete with bratwurst, mulled wine and other European food and drink. A magical, alternative festive experience with plenty to do for all the family.
